Reasons we love Cage- Overacting
This could easily become a regular feature (I'm looking at you, Nanc, our resident Cage expert!), because, frankly, there are just so many reasons to love Nic Cage.
There's quite a backlog of possible posts for this (don't worry, we'll get to the financial skills, pyramids, dinosaur eggs, and views on animal procreation), but this post is dedicated to one of the single finest reasons to love Cage: his acting. Remember, this man is an OSCAR WINNER (i know, right?), but we love him for things like this:
Fortunately, 3pies4rolls favorite Television Without Pity has compiled a list of Cage's finest overacting roles. I know what you're saying, how did they manage to leave off Ghost Rider and Snake Eyes?? (yes, I'm qualified to make that comment, I watched Ghost Rider from start to finish) Sadly, no website is perfect (um, except ours?), so we have to live with the oversight, but they're forgiven because instead they gave us lines like this:
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
"Who can we get to play this cop who's strung out on drugs most of the time, causing him to act erratically and hallucinate that there are iguanas in the room?"
"I saw Nic Cage talking to iguanas in the bathroom of a Denny's just the other day."
"Perfect! Go check that Denny's and see if he's still there."
Think about it, what actor other than Nic Cage would make you laugh after reading that, then pause to consider if it might not actually be true?
And so, Mr. Cage, we once again salute you!

as opposed to the previous Depp post, we know that generally the only thing Cage does is make shitty movies. so this makes me happy (although screw you to anyone who didn't like The Rock or National Treasure)
