great movies that would be ruined by facebook

Oh Facebook, you know I love you. But, as this article points out, you do make a screenwriter's job much more difficult. Missed connections, mistaken identities, removing memories of a person, it's all pretty much out the door with status updates and photo tagging. It makes me scared for future plots...

they make a strong point...

Urlesque.com points out that all that drama in the trailer for "The Social Network" (a movie about facebook, mind you) is pretty much solely the result of the music (a choir cover of Radiohead's "Creep"). How do they make this point? I'll let keyboard cat answer that question...

watch your back, Pixar

The cast of Pirhana 3D presents its argument for why the film should sweep the Oscars. It's compelling enough to almost make me want to see it (and to make me really miss Party Down. I heart you, Adam Scott)

a surprisingly hilarious story on Jimmy Kimmel

believe me, I'm as shocked as anyone. I LOL-ed (watch the video, and don't judge me). it begins around 2:20 and continues on the next two videos...

time to weep for the future.

I think Vanessa said it all...

The e-mail I received this in from V-dawg read:

Subject: HAVE HIS BABIES RIGHT NOW!
Body: No context needed

Reasons we love Cage- the hair

does it really require any explanation?

in case your love of nic cage is not quite enough to identify all his different hair "styles", a cheat sheet for you.

hubble gotchu

proving once and for all that NASA has, by far, the coolest nerds...

a lot of people named Mike in the building.

have I mentioned lately that I love Jimmy Fallon? because, um, yeah, that was a rap about the Hubble telescope featuring actual scientists from NASA. Enough said.

tip of the hat to Cole for the link!

sometimes all you need...

is a little romcom with Paul Rudd literally running away from bad news.

almost documentary season!

Yes, it's almost time for the season of "serious" movies (see you next year Nic Cage...), which means one of our other great loves- documentaries! A team of awesome filmmakers (including 3pies4rolls favorite, Seth Gordon!) are making a movie on Freakonomics. get ready for the learnin'!

helping you get your JGL fix for the day...

3pies4rolls boyfriend Joseph Gordon-Levitt is pretty much a dreamboat. Aside from the fabulous movies he makes (Brick, Mysterious Skin, Inception, (500) Days of Summer to name a few) and the general hot-being he deals with every day, he also started a project called hitRECord, a professional open production company that creates and develops art and media collaboratively (find out more about them here). Anyway, all that is merely a prelude to your fun video for the day. If you love words and you love JGL, this is right up your alley...

people who are way more talented than me...

seriously

my co-workers have full permission to do this next time I'm out of town...

Bateman!

It might not be the Arrested Development movie (thanks again, 8 pound 6 ounce baby jesus!), but it sure looks entertaining

my humps

holy shit this is awesome!

in fact, this woman actually made me enjoy this crap black eyed peas song. impossible you say! nothing could make listening to fergie talk about her humps anything but eye stabbingly awful you implore! well friend, your skepticism is certainly well deserved. but, i beg you, suck it up and give the lady a chance:

right? honestly, they should hire her for every show.

Seriously, this movie can't be far off...

I mean, they're making a movie based on "Battleship". I honestly can't believe there hasn't been an Oregon Trail movie yet...

oh, and by the way, I would TOTALLY see this movie. (even if it doesn't go into my preferred technique of buying as many oxen as I could afford, setting their rations on "meager", and running them at the fastest pace. I swear my cruelty is only directed at poorly animated animals)
